Close to our lovely Hotel Skovly on beautiful Bornholm, there are several excellent locations to live out a passion for rock climbing.
Bornholm offers rich climbing possibilities on granite, which is unique in Denmark. Along the coast of Nordbornholm, there are more than 400 registered climbing routes. In the quarries at Moseløkken (Allinge), Ringebakkebruddet (Vang) and Klippeløkken (Rønne), there are more than 150 bolted sports routes, and there are numerous boulder routes along the Ørnebjergkysten (Hammeren ) and in the Troldeskoven (Stammershalle).
There are restrictions on climbing on Helligdomsklipperne (Gudhjem), Ekkodalen (Aakirkeby) and Hammershus. It is forbidden to climb Helligdomsklipperne and Hammershus and the part of the Ekkodalen, which is owned by the Danish Nature Agency.
As the Moseløkken and Klippeløkken quarries are still working, climbing restrictions may occasionally apply here. Currently, it is completely prohibited to climb the Klippeløkken quarry. In the Moseløkken quarry, climbing is permitted during weekends, holidays and during other periods when there is no mining activity. It is advised to be extremely careful when the quarries work as heavy machinery are used blasting occurs frequently.
